The owner of Kelly Law Practice, PLLC, Marvin M. Kelly is a New York business lawyer who concentrates his practice in the areas of cannabis law and wills/trusts/estate planning. Leveraging his broad legal experience, Marvin advises his clients on the nascent Marijuana Regulation & Taxation Act (MRTA), signed into law on March 31, 2021 by Governor Andrew Cuomo, and in the area of estate planning. This includes but is not limited to, business entity formation, drafting and reviewing of intellectual property agreements, trademark registrations, copyright protection filings, and the purchase/lease of real property. Mr. Kelly obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Fordham University in 2004 and earned his Juris Doctor law degree in 2009 from Fordham University School of Law. During law school he was a member of the school’s Securities Litigation and Arbitration Clinic which provides free legal representation to indigent investors who suffered investment losses due to the actions of brokers and their firms. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award for his dedication to public service.After graduating law school, Mr. Kelly was admitted to practice in New Jersey in 2009 and New York in 2010. He is also admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. After more than ten years in private practice representing banks, federal credit unions, insurance companies, and business owners, Mr. Kelly decided to establish his own practice. Marvin Kelly prides himself on his attention to detail, and providing cutting-edge legal representation to individuals, startups, and established businesses. He is an active member of the New York State Bar Association and participates in the Bar’s sections on Business Law, and on Trusts and Estates. He is also an arbitrator for FINRA.
